Massachusetts Cultural Council
Creative Teaching Partner

Creative Teaching Partners is a small group of teaching artists designated by the Massachusetts Cultural Council to offer curriculum based arts programs. Creative Teaching Partners submit their creative and educational work to a lengthy and rigorous review process. Their work is evaluated by panel educators, consultants, and artists from their own and other disciplines. The program is designed to encourage and ensure high quality, in depth, curriculum based, integrated arts programs in Massachusetts schools.

The Creative Teaching Partners List connects schools, cultural groups and social service organizations with outstanding individual artists, arts groups and folklorists from across the state. Partners are qualified to conduct in-depth residencies, teacher professional development workshops, school and district planning projects, and youth development programs.

All Partners are conversant in child development, state curriculum frameworks and assessment, and have extensive experience in schools and/or in after-school settings. They maintain active professional careers both in their disciplines and in their educational work, and possess a significant work history. They also have a commitment to participation in ongoing professional development to enhance artistic and pedagogical skills.
